SUN CAPS
TAN
WITHOUT THE SUN
What
is contained in Sun-Caps?
Canthaxanthin is one of the two major carotenoids. (Beta carotene is the other.) Carotenoids are bright colours (yellow, orange, red)
found in mother nature. Canthaxanthin is the darker colours (red and maroonish-brown). Beta
carotene is the yellows and oranges. A few examples of Canthaxanthin are as follows: the red in
the skin of an apple, the red in crab, shrimp, lobster, and the brown in edible mushrooms.
How
do Sun-Caps work?
The canthaxanthin in Sun-Caps assimilates into the body and attaches to the
subcutaneous layer of fat cells (insulin fat) that are directly underneath the
skin's surface. The skin is translucent (not transparent like glass, more like
wax paper). So through the translucency of the skin, the darkened fat gives the appearance of a tan.
How
many Sun-Caps do I need?
Recommended guidelines for Sun-Caps are based on bodyweight. Adults weighing less than I 30 Ibs, we recommend 3 capsules per day until SP
(Saturation Point). For those over 130 Ibs, we recommend 4 capsules per day
until SP. Note: for children over 4 years of age we recommend I capsule for
every 40 Ibs. of body weight during SP. The average person will reach saturation
USUALLY in 20 days. SP is reached when approximately the desired colour (it will
be lighter at first over the WHOLE body). The colour may first start to appear
at the hands, feet and face. This is normal because these are the farthest body
parts from the heart, and the Canthaxanthin molecules will attach here quicker.
USUALLY within 5 days after the colour appears at the hands, feet and face it
will be over the whole body. This is when the SP is reached. Once the SP has
been obtained, cut the dosage in half. This will allow you to keep the colour.
Here
are some VERY IMPORTANT notes:
A)
NOT EVERYONE reaches SP in 20 days.
Some may take longer because of various reasons ( obesity, poor assimilation, hereditary skin thickness, poor health,
etc.). If SP is not reached by 20 days, you can take 2 or 3 more capsules per day. This may be needed
to reach SP.
B)
Once SP is reached and the dosage is cut in half, you can regulate your colour
by taking less or more capsules.
C) It takes about 2-3 weeks AFTER saturation before the tan will be golden bronze. At first it is usually a slight reddish-brown
colour. This darkens in time or through a
small amount of sun exposure. One to two hours of sun each 3-5 days will equalize the
Canthaxanthin molecules. This process will darken the tan as much as two to three times. Sun
beds will accelerate the tanning process (one session per week).
D)
Most people do not see any colour until 5 days before SP is reached.
